ingredients

4 Servings
450 g Paneer, cut into cubes
180 ml Thick Greek yogurt
1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Red chili powder (to taste)
1 tsp Garam masala
1 tsp Ground cumin
1 tsp Ground coriander
0.5 tsp Chaat masala
1 tbsp Lemon juice
1 tsp Salt (to taste)
2 tbsp Vegetable oil
1 pc Large red onion, cut into cubes
2 pc Bell peppers (various colors), cut into cubes
0 to taste Fresh coriander, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

1

Prepare Marinade

In a large bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, ground cumin, ground coriander, chaat masala, lemon juice, salt, and vegetable oil. Mix well to form a smooth paste.

2

Marinate Ingredients

Add the cubed paneer, red onion, and bell peppers to the marinade. Ensure all pieces are thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or ideally 2-3 hours, to allow the flavors to meld.

3

Skewer Assembly

Once marinated, thread the paneer cubes and vegetables alternately onto skewers. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes beforehand to prevent burning.

4

Grill or Bake

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, or your oven to 200°C (fan-assisted). Grill the skewers for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until the paneer and vegetables are lightly charred and tender. If baking, cook for a similar duration until golden brown.

5

Serve

Serve immediately, garnished with fresh chopped coriander. It pairs wonderfully with naan bread, rice, or a fresh salad.

Extra Tips

For best results, allow the paneer and vegetables to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or even 2-3 hours in the refrigerator.

If you don't have a grill, you can bake them in the oven at 200°C (fan-assisted) for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve with fresh naan bread, rice, or a light salad, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
