There's nothing quite like a freshly baked, aromatic homemade pizza! This recipe guarantees a perfectly crispy crust and rich toppings, just the way you like it. Prepare it for family or friends on a relaxed evening and enjoy the Italian atmosphere in your kitchen. Making homemade pizza isn't complicated, and the result is worth every effort.

ingredients

4 Servings
500 g all-purpose flour
300 ml lukewarm water
7 g active dry yeast
5 g salt
4 g sugar
30 ml olive oil
400 g canned crushed tomatoes
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
250 g shredded mozzarella cheese
150 g cooked ham
150 g fresh mushrooms
1 medium bell pepper
1 small red onion
0.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Steps

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine the lukewarm water with sugar and yeast, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy. Add the flour, salt, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil, then knead into a smooth, elastic dough (about 5-7 minutes). Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 60 minutes, or until doubled in size.

2

Sauce and Toppings

Meanwhile, prepare the sauce: In a bowl, mix the crushed tomatoes with minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Slice the ham, mushrooms, bell pepper, and onion thinly.

3

Assemble the Pizza

Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up. Divide the risen dough into two portions, then roll them out on a floured surface into round pizza bases. Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or directly onto the hot pizza stone.

4

Bake

Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, sprinkle with half of the shredded mozzarella, then arrange the ham, mushrooms, bell pepper, and onion. Finally, top with the remaining mozzarella. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Repeat with the second pizza.

Extra Tips

Don't skimp on toppings, but also don't overload the pizza to keep the crust crispy.

Use a pizza stone or a preheated baking sheet for baking to get an even crispier bottom.

Experiment with toppings! The beauty of homemade pizza is that you can put anything you like on it.
