These quick chocolate coconut balls are the perfect choice when you crave something sweet but don't have time to bake. They require just a few basic ingredients and minimal preparation, allowing you to whip up this nostalgic treat in no time. Ideal for guests, festive occasions, or just a quick snack on weekdays. The hint of rum and the coconut coating make them irresistible.

ingredients

20 Servings
250 g Ground tea biscuits
100 g Powdered sugar
30 g Unsweetened cocoa powder
100 g Shredded coconut
100 g Softened butter
50 ml Milk
5 ml Rum essence (or 15 ml rum)

Steps

1

Mix ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground biscuits, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and half of the shredded coconut (about 50g). Add the softened butter, milk, and rum essence (or rum). Knead the ingredients thoroughly until you get a homogeneous, well-formable mixture.

2

Form the balls

With wet hands, form small, walnut-sized balls from the prepared mixture. Make sure they are uniform in size.

3

Coat and chill

Roll the formed balls in the remaining shredded coconut until all sides are covered. Place the coconut balls on a tray or plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up and allow the flavors to meld. Serve cold.

Extra Tips

For a more intense rum flavor, use real rum instead of rum essence.

You can roll the balls in cocoa powder or ground walnuts instead of coconut for variety.

It's worth letting the mixture rest for at least 10 minutes before chilling, so the flavors can meld.
