2 g freshly ground black pepper

Preparation

Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form them into patties about 1.5-2 cm (0.6-0.8 inches) thick. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper. Slice the tomato, red onion, and dill pickles. Prepare the lettuce leaves.

Cook Patties

Heat a little olive oil in a large skillet or on a grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-5 minutes per side, depending on your desired doneness. In the last minute, place a slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt.

Toast Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast the cut sides in the skillet or on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden and crispy.
